It was simple enough. It just had not occurred to me before.
It happened during my prayer time as I walked back and forth on the deck at my home. I asked God, “Do you hear me God?” Then, all of a sudden the thought came to me, of course God can hear me, the question is am I hearing from God?
“Before they call I will answer, while they are still speaking I will hear”. Isaiah 65:24
I was excited to know that God was, indeed, hearing my prayers.. The next thing I knew I was remembering the scripture of James 1:22, “Be ye doers of the word and not hears only”. Now I was beginning to understand, but how could I be a doer of His word unless I first understood the word? Of course I need to have read His Word in order to begin to understand it.I hoped that wisdom was now beginning to come upon me. Wisdom is what I needed. “For her income is better than silver and her revenue better than gold.” Prov. 3:14. Now I needed to hear and understand what He was telling me
There comes a time when we must stop talking and begin to listen for the answer.
It’s always been true, we learn more from listening than from talking. Prayer is one of those times.
