We Are In Transition…And It Doesn’t Look Good

If you want to know the history of a nation and it’s people listen to their music. If you want to know the morality of a nation and it’s people find out what magazines they are buying, reading and what they watch on television and also the various websites they visit on their computers. The identity of a nation and it’s people will be found in their politics and culture. During the earlier centuries of our country and before electricity that eventually brought about radio, television, computers, IPods, IPad’s, IPhones, SmartPhones and etc. people used to gather in the parlor or living room of their homes and entertain themselves and their guests by someone singing or playing the piano, pianola, harp, harpsichord or other musical instrument and often just listened to a story teller. Exchanging news and information was also a part of the evenings entertainment. This was a more genteel time in our history. Vulgarity had not yet made its way quietly  into our homes  as a cancer and begin to destroy us. As I was scanning the television offerings one evening I noticed how much violence was offered. Many, perhaps most, dramas were mostly based on violence and immorality. How sad to have our children indoctrinated with this culture and then wonder why someone may fantasize about what it would be like to really act out one of these horrid and violent lifestyles. Immorality is encouraged as the way to enjoy life. Virtue is ridiculed as not being ‘cool’. Have we ourselves become so inured and desensitized that we no longer can see the connection between a steady diet of crime, immorality, pornography and violence being offered to the public at large and the direct result of this on us and our families? Have we become self-delusional? It seems we have lost our authority and control of our life. Our life is now being pro-grammed for us by the mainstream media with new instructions as to how we should live. Is this what our country has become? a modern day Sodom and Gomorrah? While many say they follow the Jewish-Christian faith in their life, it seems to be in word only and not in deed. “…if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land”. (2 Chronicles. 7:14) This wickedness of this land did not become this way overnight. It came slowly over a period of time, as a creature of the wild slowly approaches it victim and then with a swift pounce devoures it victim. The venom is quick acting and paralyzes the senses and the victim is absolutely helpless. It dies. What will this country and it’s people do? Will they become victims or will they come to their spiritual senses and become the victors we were created to be? Some will choose to be victims by inaction or continue in their folly, and some will by a determined effort of their spirit choose to become victorious. The choice is ours to make. Do you love your family? What will your choice be, while you still have a choice.? We must return to our biblical principles if we are to save our families and our nation. Either you make the choice or it will be made for you.  It will happen, one way or the other. For our country and for our family I hope it is not too late and that we can still make the right decision.  Carpe Diem.

The dictionary definition says, “Omnipresent: to be present in all places at all times”. Think about that for a moment. Exactly what does that mean? Do we really understand the definition? We know more about what is not omnipresent than we do about what is or can be ‘omnipresent’. The only thing, condition, or state of being that can be omnipresent has to be a state of being and condition that is not defined nor restricted by the element of time. What or who can that be? Certainly not you and me nor any other human being on the face of this earth. Who then can be omnipresent? Only the Creator of this entire universe who is before time and distinct from time and not subject to time. Thus we have a plausible explanation for the eternal aspect of our Creator. Our Creator  always exists in the present. With God it is always “now”. He said, ” I am the Alpha and the Omega”. ” I change not. He is forever the same, today, tomorrow and forever. He is there in our past,  He is with us in our present existence and is already there in our future.  That, by the way, is a very good reason not to worry about our future. God is already there and preparing it for our habitation.

As I am writing this, today is December 31, the last day of 2012  I know God is already there in January 01, 2013 waiting for us. This is a very comforting thought for me. When we are able to enter into eternity we will find that time has ceased to exist for us as well. Another reason why we will never age another minute of our life. We will not worry about how long it will take for us to travel to any of the billions of other galaxies as we will not be restricted by the element of time.  We may have  the ability to be where ‘we will’ or wish  to be at all times. As it is written:  ”No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has … neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love him. (1 Corinthians 2:9)

As a child who is about to be birthed we do not understand all that is to come and is still before us. So, too, we can not imagine the spectacular future that awaits us. We now are blind, we are still deaf and we are still without knowledge and wisdom but all that is about to change as His coming is drawing closer. We have already entered these last days. A new tomorrow is about to dawn and the old world will pass away as it is transformed into a new and far more stunning and exceptionally beautiful world. This is our future, an existence unimaginable with our mortal minds. Yet, this is God’s promise as He said He was going to prepare a place for us. ” I’m going away to prepare a place for you, I’ll come back again and … and if I go and shall prepare you a place, I am coming again and shall receive you to myself, that where I am ye also may be.” (John 14:3)

God is not a man that He should lie; if He said it then it is truth and will happen just as He said. That’s comforting to me.

I’m excited, waiting and ready…are you?

Angels In The Flesh

Recently, during this past Christmas season, I watched the last few moments of a news program where they spoke of the death of a young boy from cancer. I believe his last name was Jayden. He wanted to do kind deeds for people. His father said that his son said to him that he, the young boy, was an angel before he came to be their son. This raises a most  profound question. Is it possible for this to be true? and is there scripture that supports this declaration? Could Hebrews 13:2 support this? The scripture mentions ‘strangers’ but could angels also be friends or family members? The scriptures do not say. But, let us see where this leads us and what we do know. We know that angels did appear to men and talked with them and ate with them and that they had human bodies. How did they get these bodies? Were they newly created for them or did they inhabit someone’s human body? Did they have permission to inhabit these bodies?  Did the inhabited individual remember anything of this episode? Or can it be as the young boy indicated that angels can be born to human parents?

We know that an angel is given to each soul, to pray for and to guide him or her. This truth we have revealed in Matthew’s Gospel where Jesus says, “See that you never despise one of these little ones.  I assure you, their angels constantly behold my Father’s face in heaven.” (Matthew 18: 10)  Jesus uses the possessive pronoun, “their,” in reference to our relationship with these angels.  They have been given to us.  They are a gift to us from God.  (Confraternity of Penitents)

Since angels are spirit beings and have the ability to inhabit a human body did they actually do so? We are told that demons which are  fallen angels, can inhabit, have inhabited and can still inhabit human beings. It seems quite likely that if a fallen angel can inhabit a human body, without the consent of the  ’owner’ of that body, then it seems that God’s angels should have that same ability to inhabit a human body; however, I do not think they would without permission.  So then it may be that an angel can be born a human being. Did not the Holy Spirit come upon Mary and did she not conceive a child? It seems that a spirit can enter into a human. The next question is, regarding this young Jayden boy,  for what purpose? The boy died of cancer. What was the mission of the angel? Did the Jayden angel child succeed? or did he fail by the power of a superior fallen angel who brought about the boy’s death by cancer?

This question of success or failure  can only be answered by a power above that of  we mortals. From this we see for certain that the ‘great controversy’ continues.

Once again we are encouraged to diligently search the scriptures for truth, and guidance. On this matter, I am  still searching the scriptures for more information and truth.

I will probably return to this subject matter again at another time.                        I admit,  I find it all very, very  interesting.

Fantasy, Fantasy…Life and Existence is a fantasy….or is it?

Suppose this world that you live in is your world and your world alone? Everyone else in your world are just ‘props’. Suppose each of us has our own world and that world actually reflects us and our life.  What is the condition is the world we live in? Is it a reflection of our life? What if every time we made a decision the world changed? It changed our world but not another’s world…just ours. There would be trillions of different alternate worlds in existence. Would you choose to continue to live in this world of your making?
Some scientists say that alternate universes are a real possibility.  It is impossible for our finite minds to comprehend or even imagine all the possibilities of creation.
Only the mind of God has all the answers and these answers may be available to us only when we shed this mortal flesh and blood body and put on the spiritual body of immortality. Think about how little we know about existence.  Discoveries are being made moment by moment and still there is more to learn. It is as if a man were to pick up sand grain by grain from every beach and desert in the world, it is an endless task. What seems to be impossible in our natural world may not be impossible in the quantum world. We already live in a world within a world.  We tend to limit God simply because…. we…. can not conceive of it. Our failure to be able to ‘imagine’ does not limit nor does it restrict God from doing whatever He wills and from doing what we would say is impossible. Impossible to us  but not to the Creator and God of miracles.
God is not limited in what He can do,  it is we who are limited and this limitation may have been imposed upon us by God Himself. Surely God is wiser than we are and by this means He is able to manage us and the affairs of this universe.  While we grow in knowledge we will never approach His immense knowledge and wisdom.  Just as we ponder upon far distant stars in the night sky, so too, we may while in this mortal body, ponder about all the ‘why’s, how’s and what if’s of this mysterious universe. Best we leave the answers to these many questions to Him, then we will have all answers and all mysteries solved for us.  He is and always will be Creator and He can do as it pleases him. Why this exercise in fantasy? Why this excursion into  imaginary alternate worlds?
Perhaps it is to remind us that we don’t know what we don’t know.

To Obey or Not to Obey

As I was in my morning meditation the word ‘convenience’ seemed to come to mind. I wondered for a moment why. Then the word seem to explain itself. No, not the dictionary definition but the implication of the word itself. I thought for a second where this was going. A question formed in my thoughts and seemed to ask of me…when do you plan to do this task or obligation, when it is needed or when it is convenient? How often have we decided to do something for someone that would really be a blessing for them but decided to wait for a more convenient time for us to do it?  The Spirit of the Lord may be moving on us but our reply is …”o.k. Lord but later. It’s just not convenient at the moment”. This call from the Lord often signals the need for an immediate response and suggests the urgency of the call. There often ensues a battle between convenience and sacrifice on our part. To which one we respond  indicates the clarity of our understanding of spiritual matters. We don’t want to say “no” to the Lord so instead we say, “later Lord”. Most often the choice  is to choose convenience rather than obedience. Samuel said, “obedience is better than sacrifice. 1 Samuel 15:22.  If we do the right thing the first time there will be no need to a sacrifice. Our flesh is weak and unable to do that which requires sacrifice while our spirit grows stronger by training and discipline. Obedience and sacrifice is the way to spiritual strength and power. Both obedience and sacrifice grow stronger and becomes easier to do the more it is practiced. It is as if this were a spiritual Olympic event that we are in training for. The more practice, the more success we will have. Is it easy? Anything that denies the flesh what it wants is not easy; that is why there are such grand spiritual rewards. There is a cost, but well worth it. This you will only understand when you yourself have achieved victory over the flesh and walk in the power of obedience and spiritual righteousness.
